Clairault Streicker Wines

2024 Clairault Margaret River Pinot Noir Rosé

2024 Clairault Margaret River Pinot Noir Rosé

Blend

100% Pinot Noir

Vineyard

Bridgeland Vineyard, Karridale

Winemaking Note

The Pinot Noir fruit is hand-picked, chilled overnight and whole cluster pressed to extract only the slightest amount colour and only the purest fragrances and textures from the skins. The juice is cold settled prior to fermentation at low temperatures in barrel. Our aim is to preserve freshness and capture aromatics, while developing texture and complexity in oak. When fermentation was complete, the wine was then racked off of its lees to stainless steel before stabilising and bottling in July of the vintage.

Vintage Conditions

It was a warm and dry growing season in 2024, with one of the earliest starts to vintage on record. Above average temperatures with little rainfall led to good growing conditions for vines and early budbust. The dry conditions eased the pressure of disease and a spectacular season for the Marri blossom kept the birds at bay. We began picking chardonnay in mid-January and wrapped up with the reds in late March.

Aroma

Raspberries, red currants and nougat.

Palate

A fine entry of red fruits, plum blossom, red apples and dried herbs. Mineral throughout, the palate finishes quenching and persistent, tense and flecked with yet more red and blue fruits.

Cellaring

Up to 2 years, however we enjoy it for freshness now.

A warm and dry growing season with timeous top ups of rain has led to whites of unprecedented purity balanced with formidable power, and reds boasting intense red and blue fruits with striking yet supple tannin and structure.
